Favorite Indie Games from E3
There was a lot shown at E3 this year, and some super rad Indie games I’m excited to try! Here are my favorite indie games from E3 2015:
UNRAVEL: I have to start with Unravel, because the combination of a terribly nervous creative director telling a sweet story, and Yarny on the screen was a one two punch to my heart.
If I knew how to make anything with yarn, I would already have a personal Yarny and taking her on all sorts of adventures.
CUPHEAD: We have been seeing snippits and bits and pieces of CupHead for a while now, And I really can’t stress enough how much I love this art style. It’s as if Steam Boat Willie is going to jump off the screen and flip you off at any moment. Side scrolling, lots of action – I can’t get over how seamlessly studio MDHR took this art style and applied it to a video game. Xbox / PC exclusive (though I know some virtual machines that should be able to run it on a MAC!)
BEYOND EYES: I didn’t even realize that this game had failed a crowdfunding campaign via IndieGoGo, because they sold me on it on the big screen at E3! It’s the world and experience of a blind 10 year old girl (Rae), and I imagine I’ll cry 100 times in the first 5 minutes. The art is beautiful and looks almost water color, while you have a very limited view (as one might expected with a game that has a blind child as your protagonist).
DEATH’S GAMBIT: This game looks like it will fill the Castlevania void in my heart until Iga’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is made and released!
FIREWATCH: We’ve seen this at PAX before, but it will still make my list because I like the art, I like the humor, and I like that hopefully the humor will keep this game from scaring the pants off me.
Let me know if you had some other favorite indie games from E3 this year!
