D&D 40th Anniversary Blog Hop Challenge
I took a break from Dorkadia after PAX ’13. Despite this site being one of the things I’m most proud of in my adult life I needed to figure out what it meant to me and how it fit into my future. But I waffled, I slacked, and I did what I always do: played games instead of figuring shit out. Avoidance is a really fun road to take, but you eventually find out that it’s a dead end. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon d20 Dark Ages‘ Dungeons & Dragons 40th Anniversary Blog Hop Challenge that I saw my opportunity to rejoin Dorkadia’s ranks.
In celebration of 40 years of both dungeons and dragons the blog hop challenge provides a different prompt for every day in February. Starting tomorrow I’ll be sharing 28 personal stories about my own relationship and experiences with D&D. There will be reminiscing, embarrassing stories, monster stat blocks, and rants about nerd culture. Check out the challenge page if you want to see what prompts are coming ahead of time.
Honestly, the best part about this challenge is that there are 39 other blogs signed up as well. I can’t wait to see what others have to share! If you’re reading this from the land of tomorrow, you can click here to see all of my challenge posts in one place.
I enjoyed writing these stories and I’m happy to share them. I think you’ll enjoy these posts (and the other blogs’ posts as well) whether or not you’re going on four decades of D&D experience or you’re just finding out about the hobby for the first time. I hope you tune in every day in February for more!
