Megan’s Week in Geek – Halloween 2013!
I’m not much of a Halloween person since I got too old to get free candy, but while reading all my RSS feeds for Week in Geek, I have seen some AMAZING Halloween costume ideas this year!
Honestly, some of these should be saved for cosplay at comicon, but that would get you way less free candy.
Check out the video of a child’s LED light suit to look like a walking stick figure! That kid hasn’t got a clue how cute she looks!
I guess i’m focusing on all the cute kid Halloween costumes this year, because if you look at what there is for adults, you may or may not scratch your eyes out. Have you seen the sexy watermelon costume? (Who goes into the produce section of the grocery store and thinks “hmmm… Ginger? No. Not sexy enough. Oh but look at that watermelon! YES!”) The list here of the same costume idea produced for men vs. women is kinda gross. Speaking of gross, and i’m not going to add the image to scar all your eye balls, but the sexy Bert and Ernie costumes are something that NEVER needed to be made. (Honorable mention to the dude that made his own 50 Shades of Grey costume though – well done!)
In the world of not scary costumes, this family works hard to incorporate their son’s wheel chair in their costumes every year, and they knocked it out of the part with this Oz inspired set! If you want to find another way to incorporate a ride for your kids to build into their Halloween costume, check out this instructables on transforming a kids push car (imagine a kids red and yellow car they can sit in with a big handle you push them around like you would a lawn mower), into a Delorean and dressing your kid as Marty McFly! I’d give that family all my candy. Back To the Future FTW.
(I don’t know what to say about this – but I have to add the link to costumes for your chinchillas and guinea pigs. Please don’t take them out trick or treating)
I hope everyone has a lovely and safe Halloween next week!
